Barca B - 3, Tenerife - 1

Barca B - 1, Numancia - 0

FC Barcelona Atletic -2, Elche - 0

FC Barcelona Atletic boys recovered well from their last weeks 5-1 defeat with a good 2-1 victory at the Mini Estadi. I streamed the entire match and have to admit that I have been very pleased by the movements of our lads. Everyone of them looks absolutely incredible with the ball and at times going forward and they resembled the first team especially in attack. Yup, there are some defensive fragilities and that needs to be looked upon by Luis Enrique. But the defenders ususally improve with age and the young age of his defenders could be a huge factor for Luis Enrique. Coming Back to the match, goals from jonathan Soriano and Nolito helped Barca B to a comfortable 2-0 cictory. Elche had their chances but didn't take any of them. They looked a decent threat especially in air but their fisnishing was very poor. Barca B had the bulk share of possession, like their seniors. But it took sometimes for the lads to get the attack going well. The first goal came from a Jonathan Soriano header after his earlier stunning attempt was thwarted by the goal keeper. He looks like a decent presence in the box and at 24 is one of the oldest in the squad. Jonathan Dos Santos looked good at times especially with his distribution. But his final ball has been a touch heavy at many times. I am seriously started to like Muniesa. He resmbles Puyol in many aspect, especially the way he goes in for challenges. The team looks pretty well tuned and looks good to hang onto the league.

Barca Atletic Does it Again - Barca B-2, XereZ-1

Barca Atletic boys continued their winning start with another 2-1 victory over last season Preimiera Liga side Xerez.Below is the highlights.

Barça Atlètic Secures Promotion

What a historic day for Barca fans, Barca Atletic has secured the promotion to Segunda División after a goalless draw against Sant Andreu. Barca B has earlier won the first leg by a solitary, somewhat controversial goal. Barca Atletic has joined Granada, Ponferradina and Alcorcón earning the honour to play in the Segunda División. The entire list of teams who will be participating in Segunda Division next season are Albacete, Alcorcón, Barcelona Atlètic, Betis, Cartagena, Celta de Vigo, Córdoba, Elche, Gimnàstic de Tarragona, Girona, Granada, Huesca, Las Palmas, Numancia, Ponferradina, Rayo Vallecano, Recreativo, Salamanca, Tenerife, Valladolid, Villarreal B and Xerez. That's hell of a list and to remain there itself will be a hard job for Luis Enrique's boys. The team has come a long way in last two season. Josep Guardiola took over the reigns of Barca B who were in Tercera División at that time and got them promoted to the Segunda División B. Luis Enrique continued the good work and within two seasons got the team promoted to the second level of Spanish Soccer League. To the benefit of teh readers let me remid that Barcelona Atletic will not be eleigible for a promotion to La Liga as the Parent team is playing there.

But remaining in Segunda Division itself will be a tough job for our boys. The second leg of third round of play-offs show the Barcelona Atletic put up a splendid defensive display to hold Sant Andreu at bay. The line-up for the match was Miño, Muniesa, Espasandín, Bartra (Sergi Roberto, min 83), Gómez, Oriol Romeu, Benja, Rueda, Nolito (Edu Oriol, min 55), Elvis and Soriano (Thiago, min 76). The fact that the star player Thiago started demonstrated that Luis Enrique was looking for a perfect defensive display. And that's what he got. The promotion to second division will help the young talents in getting some quality exposure and better quality playing time. That should help the club keep the youngsters away from the clutches of other interested clubs.

Bojan Krkic - young star of Barca B

Bojan Krkic - young star of Barca B

FC Barcelona home grown talent Bojan Krkic, 16 years old from Linyola, has got a great future ahead of him. Last weekend he scored 2 goals in the 3-0 victory over U.E. Lleida and is already the Pichichi of Barca B. He scored 7 goals or a total of 20. Since he is playing as a regular in Quique Costas team the reserve team has changed. Krkic is developing fast and in huige steps. Last year he was promoted with 15 years to the Juvenile (U19) and this year, with 16 years, he should gain some experience in senior football. Now, he is a lready a regular and the top goalscorer of the team.

Football experts are convinced that Bojan will make his debut for the first team next sesaon.

Barca B coach Quique Coasts was in a serious crisis just weeks ago. Barca B was bottom of the table of the Segunda B (Spain´s third Division). But the boy from Linyola, with its self-confidence, skills and overall with his goals got the team back to life.

His stats are impressive. Bojan Krkic scored 7 goals in only 870 minutes playing time. 5 of them in the last 4 matches. He played 11 matches, 9 of them in the starting line-up.
When the youngster joined Barca B this season, the team had only won 1 match so far, since Bojan played they added another 5 victories.

Bojan is happy with his development and revealed:
I am scoring goals and this helps the team to win. Things go very well for me on a personal level and Barça B is improving a lot. I already feel privileged by playing for Barca B with only 16 years. I am very young and I have still a long way to go. This is why I am only thinking of Barca B at the moment.

Bojan Krkic has also been called up for Spain´s U18 to play the Meridian Cup.
