Tottenham are tonight on the verge of signing Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley after months of speculation over the players future. Bentley had linked with a move away from Ewood Park since he admitted last month that he wanted to leave Rovers leading to intense speculation that he would join either Spurs or Aston Villa.The England international never hid his desire to join the North Londoners and he is to be unveiled at a press conference in White Hart Lane tomorrow. The 23-year old has reportedly set Juande Ramos back £18 million but this is likely to be the catalyst for a number of other signings to go through before the start of the season.
Names like Andrei Arshavin and Diego Milito are likely to follow Bentley in the door at Spurs, following weeks of departures from the club. I personally feel Bentley will turn out to be a magnificent signing for Spurs. He is young and extremely gifted and I am sure he will become a firm fan favourite with the Spurs faithful.
