Inler is currently playing for Udinese after joining in 2007 from FC Zurich. The 24 year old has now established himself as a first team regular for teh Serie A outfit. He has also made 15 appearances for the Swiss national side.The midfielder caught the eye of Kevin Keegan at Euro 2008 when playing for the host country and it looks now as though the Geordie boss is attempting a £5 million swoop for Inler.
Keegan is thought to be on the hunt for new midfielders with Emre gone, Joey Barton being his troublesome self and the rumoured exits of Charles N'Zogbia and James Milner.
