Bolton and West Ham got their Premier League campaigns off to flyers with victories over Stoke City and Wigan respectively. Meanwhile, Premier League new boys Hull City came from behind to beat Fulham at the KC Stadium.Bolton ran out 3-1 winners against Tony Pulis' Stoke City at the Reebok Stadium. Gretar Steinsson put the Wanderers in the lead just after the half hour mark with a his cross looped over Stoke keeper Thomas Sorenson.
Kevin Davies and new signings Johan Elmander rapped up the three points for the home side before the break with a header each. Ricardo Fuller grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.
West Ham's Dean Ashton was the star of the show at Upton Park today, with the England manager Fabio Cappelo watching in the stands. The England striker bagged two goals for himself early in the first-half before Amir Zaki pulled a goal back for the visitors just after the break. Alan Curbishley's men held on to win 2-1.
Meanwhile, Hull City produced a magnificent display which saw them come from behind to beat Roy Hodgson's Fulham 2-1. The visitors got off the a magnificent start when Seol Ki-Hyeon headed home Jimmy Bullard's cross. Former Man City midfielder Giovanni brought the home side back into it with a peach of a finish mid-way through the first-half.
But is was substitute Caleb Folan who was the hero, calmly finishing after being played in by Craig Fagan. Great start to the Premier League, with plenty of goals around. Terrific performance from Gary Megson's Bolton, but Phil Brown's Hull showed a lot of guts coming from behind against Fulham.
