In the opinion of this Lazio commentator the fans are one enormous reason why our team has flown high into the stratosphere of Serie A. We have yet to give up, we have yet to constructively criticize when things were not where they were supposed to be but we must not forget that we are approaching a pivotal moment in the season.
We are in a vulnerable place as Laziale this week. We are faced with two choices that unlike any other team in Serie A we can rejoice that we once again retained our title as Capolista or we can be hesitant in our exuberance and be ever watchful of what transpires on November 7, 2010. When Il Derby Della Capitale comes into view and we face our rivals as roma in the first of two encounters. The players have come forward to the microphones as they have in weeks past displaying uncanny humility and reverence for a game that many feel will be the deciding factor for La Lazio this season. But as many Laziale know this game is not like any other league encounter, it is a game as unique as the teams that play in it.
La Lazio faces this test , this obstacle knowing the weight that it carries and the responsibility they have to play with all that they can muster and more. But as I’ve said in this blog posting they do not face it alone and yet in the pit of my stomach I remain anxious and eager to watch the glorious Biancoceleste come forth from the bowls of the Stadio Olimpico up those famous steps and into the light that shines over the Stadio Olimpico., although in this particular encounter they will bask in the natural Sunday sunlight and with the grace of g-d bring home the coveted Tre Punti.
So don’t forget the goals of Behrami, of Ledesma, of Paolo Di Canio, or Salas or even Beppe Signori because a new player will emerge on Sunday having become a part of that illustrious group of players who have been privileged enough to adorn the great colours of Bianco and Celeste their names will soar as will the hearts of the thousands of Laziale who are both at the Stadio Olimpico and those who are watching on tv from around world.
