Soccer Extreme : Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has launched an attack on Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo in his weekly column, after the Portuguese had made comments regarding the Blaugrana’s recent win against Almeria.
Ronaldo, when asked his opinion on the champions' 8-0 win over the Andalucian side, said that the result proved nothing because they could not score eight against Real Madrid.
Recalling the incident, Cruyff remarked in El Periodico de Catalunya: “The eight goals against Almeria seemed as if they had been handed to Barca, and someone very smart, I repeat, someone very clever, asked if they would be able to score eight against Madrid.
“And look, they only managed five against them, but it could easily have been eight. This is because of the hunger of Pep’s side, which is insatiable.”
Cruyff also praised the team for becoming the standard setters in world football, adding: “The club are by far and away the most exquisite team in the world.
"How have we got here? Because we have recognised our errors, and this has finally resulted in excellent football.” (goal)
