Both countries had disappointine results in the world cup, Italy the former World Champions missing out on qualification to the knock out round, which came as a real surprice, Ivory Coast on the other hand, played reasonably well but unfortunatley for them they were argubly in the group death with Brazil and Portugal qualyfing from their group so they can look back and say that we tried our best.
Cesare Prandelli is new Manager of Italy with Marcelo Lippi shown the door after poor World Cup campaign, he will be looking to gel together a team which will play as a Unit not like individual players, he has called up many of the up and coming younger players in the squad, axing some of the so called old players from the Italian national team.
