Preview : Tottenham v Inter Milan, November 2, 2010

Soccer Extreme : Whilst Tottenham are second in the group, that isn’t necessarily a representation of their chances at progressing through the group stages.

After all they are going to struggle against Inter Milan and they are up against stiff competition from the other teams in their group.

Van de Vaart should be fit to play and looks to have shaken off the injury that he picked up against Man Utd on Saturday. Cudicini is likely to start as goalkeeper, seeing as Gomes is still suspended.

Tottenham may very well play for the draw even though they are on their home turf.

Winning would be great, but a draw would mean that they stay second in the group regardless of either of the other teams in the group winning, assuming that neither team wins by more than a six-goal margin, which isn’t all too likely or even plausible.

Inter Milan have some concerns over the fitness of Cesar and Cambiasso. The absence of Cesar is going to be their primary concern, seeing as the keeper is widely renowned as being one of Inter's most important players.

However this is assuming that Tottenham get many opportunities to have shots on target which won't be an easy feat by any means.

Werder Bremen vs. Twente, November 2, 2010

Werder and Twente are both in a precarious position at the moment when it comes to whether either of the two sides will make it through to the knock out stages.

Winning is essential for both clubs, due to the fact that Inter are way out ahead and if this match ends in a bad result for Werder, then contention may be completely out of their hands and they’ll have to rely completely on the results of other matches.

Werder’s start to the domestic season has been pretty poor, so when you look at their form they could very well struggle with Twente.

Twente are aware that they will need to work on their discipline and tighten up in all areas if they are going to get anything out of this tie, and keeper Mihaylov has stressed that to the media.

A win may be enough to push Twente to the second spot, although depending on whether Inter win or not, essentially they are in the same boat as Werder Bremen.

Nothing short of a win will do for either of these sides, so this could be a fiercely competed match up.
