The incident was the latest in a string of problems that have erupted at City this season. Mario Balotelli and Jerome Boateng clashed in training; James Milner and Yaya Toure were involved in a heated conversation in the tunnel during a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in October; and Vincent Kompany and Adebayor have also clashed on the pitch.
Toure, though, says the latest quarrel is not significant and has explained he and Adebayor have a history of confrontation.
Toure told The Sun: "We both lost it but it calmed down quickly. Other players and the manager came to separate us. It's already forgotten.
"In any case, with Adebayor it's not the first time and it won't be the last. At Arsenal we often had a similar set-to. We know each other well, maybe too well. In any case that proves we have energy to burn; it's not that negative.'' (soccernet)
