When Chelsea announced the £30 million signing of Andriy Shevchenko two years ago, many people felt he could take the league by storm. He had a sterling reputation as one of the greatest striker's in Europe, if not the world.Since his move from his beloved AC Milan, Shevchenko has only pulled on the blue of Chelsea, 75 times, most of those appearances coming as a substitute. In total he scored 22 goals, which doesn't sound that bad, 13 of which came in cup competitions against lower league opposition.
The 31-year old Ukrainian is now on the brink of rejoining AC, after a summer of speculation about his future. "Shevchenko in the Rossoneri shirt? There really isn't much more to be done," Ramaccioni told Radio Goal. "We are close to the end of the deal and I hope that these little things that have to be fulfilled are done as soon as possible.
A well at least he had a go in the greatest league in the world. It would of been a shame to have never seen the great Sheva grace the Premier League and although it didn't work out the way he didn't, or even we didn't, want it to it was an experience, a poor one at that.
